Grief does not follow a schedule
By Mickey Mitchell. The LifeLine Tool.
Grief does not follow a schedule. It comes in waves that do not ask permission. Some days you can breathe. Some days a song, a smell, an empty chair at Thanksgiving takes the floor out from under you. If that is you today, hear this first. The empty chair is not a failure to move on. It is evidence you loved somebody.
Grief has many faces
We talk about grief like it only lives at funerals. It does not. There is the grief of death, and there is the grief of divorce, of a diagnosis, of a job that ended, of a friendship that went quiet, of the version of your life you thought you would have. All of it is real loss. All of it deserves to be named, and Scripture is not embarrassed by any of it.
God keeps count of your tears
Psalm 56:8 says God puts your tears in His bottle and writes them in His book. Not one of them is wasted or unnoticed. Psalm 34:18 says the Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves those crushed in spirit. Near. Not watching from a distance. Near.
You do not have to grieve on a timeline
Well meaning people will hand you a schedule. Scripture will not. Ecclesiastes 3 says there is a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. It does not tell you when your time is up. Neither will we. The LifeLine Tool will sit with you one morning at a time.
What to do with this today

Why The LifeLine Tool exists
The story behind The LifeLine Tool, in Mickey's voice. Not another prayer app. A way home.
How to grieve with hope
Jesus wept at a grave. Your tears are not a lack of faith. The biblical way to grieve with hope, one morning at a time.
The grief nobody held a funeral for
Some losses never get a card or a casserole. God still counts them, and He names them out loud in Scripture.
