Pray for divorce

Divorce

When a life splits in two, grace does not choose a side. It walks with you. You do not have to have it figured out. You just have to keep holding the rope.

Take it to the Lifeline

Three verses to hold

  • He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

    Psalm 147:3

  • Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

    1 Peter 5:7

  • The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

    Psalm 23:1

A prayer to start with

Father, mend what is torn. Hold my children. Hold me. Where I have failed, forgive me. Where I have been failed, heal me. Begin a new day.

A short walk this week

  1. Read Psalm 23 every morning this week.
  2. Write a one line prayer for your ex and your children. Pray it daily.
  3. Find one believer to walk with you. Tell them the truth.
  4. Take one Sabbath. Phone off. Just rest in God.

Words to look up in the Bible

  • covenant
  • heal
  • shepherd
  • forgive
  • comfort

Questions people ask

  • Does God still love me after a divorce?

Yes. Nothing in your story can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Read Romans 8.

  • How do I pray for my ex spouse?

Start small. Ask God to bless them, to protect your children, and to heal what is broken in you. Honest prayer is enough.

  • What if my faith is in pieces right now?

Then come with the pieces. Christ is not waiting for you to clean up. He is the one who cleans.

The lifeline is the answer

The Lifeline is two hands on a rope. The hand from heaven, and your hand reaching back. Watch the teaching, then bring this hard thing to it.
